JULY------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remembering Mark Garback at Radio radio in Indianapolis
Friday, July 17th, 2009
Live music and loads of fun to benefit the SCI Hope Fund as we celebrate the life of Mark Garback. Funds donated on this evening will be used to sponsor the SCI Hope Ride as 'Friends and Family Remembering Mark'.
I hope you can attend and spread the word about this great event.
Mark was escorting a funeral procession on a motorcycle when he was hit by a truck that pulled through the procession. He was unable to recover from his severe injuries. Mainly, the damage to his brain. Yes, he was wearing a helmet.

Mark was a son, a brother, a funeral escort officer, a motorcycle safety instructor and a dear friend. His sense of humor was infectious. His close friends know that he could get on your nerves with his constant joking around, but you couldn't help but love him for who he was, what he stood for and his ideals.

Mark was Mark. He never pretended to be something he wasn't. He never compromised. If you needed something, Mark was giving, kind, caring and loving.

Bret Neylon's Race to Recovery 5K Run & Walk

Online pre-registration is $20.00 and may be obtained by visiting Bret's website at www.racetorecovery.org

Or, view and print the brochure and registration form here

Registration on race day will be $25.00. All checks are made payable to NTAF (National Transplant Assistance Fund) and must have either Bret or John’s name written in the “memo”.

In June of 2006, Bret Neylon was involved in a biking accident that resulted in the fracture of his C4 vertebrae. Bret is a well known coach, teacher and friend to many in and around Hendricks County. Tragically, in August of 2007, another member of our Brownsburg community endured a similar accident; John Wassen is a carpenter, husband and father who fell while working on the second story of a home. He sustained a fracture to his C5. Both Bret and John have shown the world how to continue living even through adversity. Please join us in our 3 rd Annual Bret Neylon Race to Recovery on July 26 th, 2008. This year’s benefit race will raise money for both Bret and John, to assist with spinal cord rehabilitation and continuing medical costs for both gentlemen. Thank you in advance for your continued support and prayers for both of these extraordinary individuals!
